Description:
Oil on canvas. Dr. Beckwith sits in a red upholstered arm chair. To his right is a table with a green table cloth. There are leather bound books and some papers on the table. A heavy red curtain hangs behind him. His son, Josiah Gale Beckwith, is standing to his left. Dr. Beckwith has his arm around his son's shoulder. Dr. Beckwith wears a black suit with vest, a white shirt and a black tie. He has short reddish brown hair with a receeding hairline. His son has curly reddish brown hair and large brown eyes. He wears what appears to be a one piece blue jumpsuit with a white lace collar.
