Description:
The paper label on the back of this embroidery word reads "Embroidered by Frances Perkins in 1800 Norwich, Conn. Age 10 years" Frances was the sister of Litchfield Law School student Charles Perkins. There is not other information to corroborate her attendance at the school. Another sibling Harriet Perkins was previously believed to have attended the Litchfield Female Academy but further research has shown she attended a girls school in Norwich.
