Description:
The mourning watercolor on silk was completed by Julia Ann Burr while a student at the Litchfield Female Academy. The monument on the left reads "To the memory an Aunt/Mrs. Lucy Smith/who departed this life/26th June 1813/in the 53 year of her age" The monument on the right reads "In memory of an Uncle/William P. Beers/who departed this life/13th Sept 1810/In the 45th year of his life"
