Biographical Notes:
Myron Kilbourn was born on October 10, 1801 in Litchfield, Connecticut to Whitman and Thalila Osborn Kilbourn. In 1823 Myron graduated from Hamilton College, and six years later married Sophronia Abbe with whom he had four children. His wife (also an educator) and he moved to Kentucky where he worked as a Classical teacher. Myron later moved to Iowa where he was noted as an early steeler of Henry County, and also served as Justice of the Peace. Myron died in March 1858.
