Biographical Notes:
Noyes Barber was a merchant who served during the War of 1812. He was a member of the Connecticut State House of Representatives in 1818, and served in the United States Congress as a member of the House of Representatives from 1821-1835. Upon losing election, he returned to his mercantile business. He married twice, and had five children with his first wife, Catherine Burdick Barber, and four with his second, Mary Chester Barber.
