Biographical Notes:
Victorine de Puga's was born to Manuel and Elizabeth de Puga. Little is known about her life.
A year after her marriage to LLS student, Edward Bissell, in December 1847 she filed a bill for separation in New York from her husband on the grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment. She applied for alimony and for an allowance, but was denied based on her husband's defense. W.H. Meeks represented the wife and Jonathan Miller for her husband.
She passed away in 1903 and is interred in Brooklyn, New York.
