Biographical Notes:
Seth Hays, son of Samuel Hays, II and Rosanna Holcomb Hays, was born in 1753 in Granby, Connecticut. In 1780 Seth wed Mehetable Topping of Simsbury, Connecticut, and during their marriage the couple had six children. After his father's death in 1801, Seth inherited the family farm at 67 Barn Door Hills Road. He also served as deacon of the Congregational Church from 1805 until 1812. Seth passed away on January 3, 1839.

Seth Hays is buried in the Salmon Brook Cemetery.
