Biographical Notes:
John Zacheus Goodrich was born September 27, 1804 in Sheffield, Massachusetts. During his lifetime he worked as a lawyer and politician, and was at various times involved in manufacturing and worked as an editor. In 1848 he received an honorary degree from Williams College. He married twice in his life. After the death of his first wife he was married to Mary Hopkins Goodrich in April 1858. On April 19, 1885 he passed away.
