Biographical Notes:
Claimed to have been with his father at the capture of Fort Ticonderoga during the American Revolution. He married Isabella Blair from Worcester, Massachusetts. Samuel was one a dozen pioneers in the settlement of Shoreham, Vermont. These men cleared and conditioned their jointly purchased land. They also lived in a cabin together and shared the daily chores. They were driven out by Indians but returned after the American Revolution.
