Biographical Notes:
Cornelius Dubois was the son of Peter Dubois and Maria VanVorhees, but was reared by his stepfather, Dr. Theodorus VanWyck. Cornelius was a wholesale grocer with Kip & Dubois, a tobacco importer, and a cigar maker. He served in the Revolutionary War in Brinkerhoff's regiment in 1777.
