Biographical Notes:
Uriel Holmes, the younger son of lawyer and judge Uriel Holmes (LLS 1785), of Litchfield, Connecticut, was born on September 15, 1796, and entered Yale in 1813.
After graduation he spent a year at home, and then decided to enter the ministry. He began his studies in the Andover Theological Seminary, but was obliged to return home by the rapid progress of consumption. He arrived in Litchfield on May 18, 1818, and died there on July 4, in his 22nd year.
