Walter Dean Smith, son of Ebenezer and Sarah Dean Smith, was born in New Marlboro, Massachusetts on October 12, 1773. Walter, a lawyer by profession, married his second wife, Hetty Bull Hosford in September 1806. The couple had two children, a daughter and son. Walter Dean Smith passed away on March 15, 1852.
