Henry Butler was born in Hartford, CT in 1765. Sometime around 1787, he married Chloe Hinsdale, with whom he had ten children. He died in Westfield, MA on April 23, 1830. On his gravestone, his name is listed as Capt. Henry Butler, indicating he served in the military at an unknown date.
