Biographical Notes:
Thomas Dyer was born in Windham, CT to Eliphalet and Huldah Bowen Dyer.
His father was an attorney and later a judge who had served in the French and Indian War. Eliphalet was a member of the Susquehanna Land Company and a delegate to the Continental Congress. Thomas also served in the military during the Revolutionary War. He married Elizabeth Ripley, with whom he had 13 children, in 1771.
