Biographical Notes:
Sarah was the daughter of Ralph Isaacs, Jr. and Mary Peyret Isaacs. Her father was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, his father being one of the first settlers of Norwalk and a founder of st. Paul's Episcopal Church. Ralph Isaacs Jr. graduated from Yale in 1761 and was in the shipping business. He lived in Branford at "Cherry Hill." He sided with the British during the American Revolution and was identified as a public enemy by the Committee of Inspection for New Haven. He later took the oath of fidelity in January 1778.
Sarah Isaacs married George Tod on September 18, 1797. They later moved to Ohio and had 7 children. She died at Brier Hill, the family home in Ohio on September 29, 1847.
