Biographical Notes:
Sally Buel was born to David and Rachel McNeil Buel in the town of Litchfield. Her sister, Mary Buel, attended the Litchfield Female Academy in 1796, but died in the same year. In 1798, the Buel family moved to Troy, NY, where Sally married Dr. John Bird in 1799.
