Biographical Notes:
Electra Graves was the daughter of Moses Graves. She married James Orton in Pittsfield, Massachusetts in 1792. Her husband was appointed judge to the county courts. For a time they lived in Litchfield, New York, which had been settled by a number of residents of Litchfield, Connecticut. Two of her daughters attended the Litchfield Female Academy and both died within a month and half of one another.
